Conservation Council of Western Australia

The Conservation Council of WA (CCWA) is Western Australia's foremost not-for-profit environmental organisation. We have been a prominent and forthright voice for conservation for nearly 60 years, working directly with communities, government, Traditional Owners, industry, and media to promote a more sustainable WA and to protect our natural environment.

Groundswell Grants
2024
$
40000

This grant supported the Conservation Council of Western Australia to strengthen campaigns against further gas expansion and build public support for a faster shift to renewable energy. The funding helped grow campaigns including Go Beyond Gas and Save Scott Reef, support grassroots groups and local leaders, and increase pressure on decision-makers through media, events and community organising. The work also backed policy advocacy and expert submissions aimed at challenging new fossil fuel projects and protecting communities and ecosystems from worsening climate impacts.

Wherever we are in this country, we are on Country.

We acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as Traditional Custodians, and pay our respects to Elders past and present.

We honour their enduring care for Country and the First Nations leadership our climate future depends on.
