This Groundswell grant supported Gudanji For Country to strengthen First Nations-led resistance to fracking and other threats to Gudanji Country in the Northern Territory. The funding helped the organisation advocate directly with governments, push for stronger scrutiny of fracking in the Beetaloo Basin and take its concerns into national and international forums, including COP27. The work centred the authority of Traditional Owners to speak for and protect Country, while building wider public awareness and support for their fight.
