$
15000

This Groundswell grant supported Hi Neighbour to take its clean energy careers work on the road across NSW’s Renewable Energy Zones. The funding helped deliver community events that connect local people with real jobs, training pathways and stories from workers already making the transition. By starting with practical opportunities rather than political debate, the REZ ROADSHOW aimed to build trust, counter misinformation and help more regional communities see how the energy transition can deliver local careers and benefits.

$
40000

This Groundswell grant supported Hi Neighbour to build a practical, community-led model for a fair energy transition in the Illawarra. The funding helped provide scholarships for locals to train in low-carbon jobs, develop community-funded solar projects and create local stories showing what the transition can look like in a region shaped by coal and steel. The work connected emissions reduction with skills, jobs and local economic opportunity, helping build stronger community support for renewable energy.
