Mehi Community Centre is a First Nations-led community organisation based in Moree, on Gomeroi Country.
This Groundswell grant supported the Mehi Community Centre to establish a First Nations-led hub in Moree for organising, advocacy and community empowerment. The funding helped create a culturally safe place for Gomeroi people to meet, share information and build campaigns around fracking, water, climate change and the protection of Country. It also supported women and Elders to strengthen regional and national advocacy networks, helping the community respond quickly to major development decisions, challenge harmful projects and assert a stronger voice over what happens on Gomeroi Country.

Your donation is pooled with others and directed to the people, organisations and communities helping drive climate progress across Australia.
Every gift is 100% tax-deductible. Monthly giving provides the steady support climate campaigns need to succeed, but every contribution counts.

Wherever we are in this country, we are on Country.
We acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as Traditional Custodians, and pay our respects to Elders past and present.
We honour their enduring care for Country and the First Nations leadership our climate future depends on.
