No New Gas NT is a project of Environment Centre NT, building community opposition to new gas-based projects planned for pristine Darwin Harbour, and garnering support for an alternative renewable-powered industrial precinct for Middle Arm.
This Groundswell grant supported Environment Centre NT’s No New Gas campaign to build community opposition to new gas-based development in Darwin Harbour. The funding helped raise public awareness, engage political decision-makers and build support for an alternative vision for Middle Arm powered by renewable energy instead of gas. The work aimed to challenge the social licence for new fossil fuel infrastructure in the Northern Territory while showing that cleaner industrial development was possible.
