This Groundswell grant supported the NSW Aboriginal Land Council to build a First Nations-owned renewable energy portfolio across New South Wales. The funding helped progress three pilot projects combining solar generation and battery storage, build the team needed to move projects towards delivery, and develop financing models that can attract further investment. The work aims to create a scalable model for First Nations energy sovereignty, with the social, environmental and financial benefits flowing directly back to Aboriginal communities.
