The Pacific Islands Climate Action Network (PICAN) is a regional network of more than 190 civil society organisations working together on climate action across the Pacific.
This Groundswell grant supported the Pacific Islands Climate Action Network (PICAN) to strengthen Pacific leadership in the lead-up to COP31 and push for a Fossil Fuel Free Pacific. The funding helped record and share frontline climate stories through a new podcast, turn those stories into practical policy demands, and coordinate communities, civil society and decision-makers across the region. The work aimed to ensure Pacific priorities and solutions shape international climate negotiations, while building a stronger regional movement capable of influencing policy and resisting the co-option of Pacific climate narratives.
