Running Water Community Press is an independent, community-controlled publisher run by writers in Mparntwe (Alice Springs). Centring First Nations storytelling and truth-telling from remote areas, their work supports the sharing of intergenerational knowledge and uplifts community voices on critical issues like water justice.
This grant supported Running Water Community Press to amplify First Nations voices in the fight for water justice at Ali Curung. Through the Ali Curung Water Justice Project, the team produced a short film, community statement and a series of testimonials opposing the Singleton Station groundwater licence, while supporting advocacy through media, public events and government submissions. The work helped bring Traditional Owners’ concerns about water, Country and cultural heritage into public, political and legal conversations.
