Strong Women for Healthy Country is a First Nations-led initiative supporting women rangers and leaders across the Northern Territory. Each year, women from remote communities gather for a powerful week-long forum to share stories, deepen connections and strengthen leadership. The Groundswell grant has supported the work of staying connected beyond that one week across vast distances, cultural diversity and patchy infrastructure, through the development of a custom-built digital platform.
This grant supported Strong Women for Healthy Country to build a culturally safe digital platform connecting women rangers and leaders across the Northern Territory throughout the year. The platform created space for women to share resources, stay connected, support one another and identify infrastructure needs across remote communities, while also strengthening digital confidence and advocacy. The grant also supported on-the-ground membership engagement and helped build the organisation’s foundations, including incorporation, an Elders Council and a Message Stick group.
